No clatter or potential skipping of camshaft timing on start up after oil changes. If a chain is partially stretched already this can happen with zero oil pressure for a few seconds.
With a solid tensioner, the chain won't skip cam timing while rotating engine backwards while installing light or heavy flywheels.
If the engine stalls on a hill in a forward gear and rolls backwards, it can potentially skip cam timing with OEM tensioner.
